Level of Disclosure vs IPC1752 classes (C, D, ...)

Hi all,

how do you guys determine the correspondance between Material Declaration Level of Disclosure displayed in WPA with actual IPC1752A Classes?

Thanks for your answer

Hello Eric,

The "Disclosure Level" displayed in WPA indicates the "Qualify of Data" that the "Supplier Part" has. This "Disclosure Level" depends upon what "Material Declaration File" was used to upload that data. So this value is static and configured based on the form used. Below mentioned are the configuration options:

IPC 1752A Declaration:

1. Class A and Class C = Pre-Qualification

2. Class D = Banned and Reportable OR Total Disclosure

IPC 1752 Declaration:

1. Class 1,2,3,4 = Pre-Qualification

2. Class 5,6 = Banned and Reportable OR Total Disclosure.

As a policy, if your company mandates 100% Material and Substance Disclosure and the tolerance in WPA is configured as "0", then, Class D or Class5,6 can be configured to "Total Disclosure" as "Disclosure Level".

I don't think that answers the question, which is HOW the disclosure level is determined in the first place.  My guess is that WPA looks at the tag in the IPC-1752A xml file that is imported, <SubSectional>, and then assigns the Declaration Level depending on the presence of A, C or D in that tag.

Is this correct?  I am a WPA user, not a PTC employee.
