MPM Link

Dear Experts,

I am trying to convert an eBOM to an mBOM in MPM Link.

The steps that I use to convert an eBOM to an mBOM are

1) Create a new manufacturing part number (View - Manufacturing)
2) Checkout the manufacturing part that was created.
3) Open an eBOM in another MPM Explorer
4) Copy the eBOM structure to the new Manufacturing Part created.
5) A new window opens saying "Create Children from Upstream BOM"
6) Select "New View" in the paste As column
7) The eBOM structure is copied under the Manufacturing part that was created.

But an alert is thrown saying "No Equivalent Occurence link will be created".

For the copied parts from eBOM only Equivalent Link is created.
Equivalent Occurrence link is not created for any of the parts.

In the File -> Perference -> menu in MPM Explorer I have select the following options.

"Upstream Equivalence Calculation Enabled = true"
"Dowstream Equivalence Calculation Enabled = true"
"Upstream Equivalence Occurrence Status enabled = true"
"Downstream Equivalence Occurrence Status enabled = true"
"Pasting Parts = Paste with associative BOM Links"

I am not sure If am converting the eBOM to mBOM in the right way. Please advise.

product but have no plans on purchasing just yet.

We're also just starting to learn about and experiment with MPMLink
(we've got it installed on 3 test systems).

Possibly we could all share some findings on this soon.

I have tried creating an eBOM withchild itemhaving two occurrences and I differentiated them with different reference designator. But nothing works.

For the Equivalent occurrence link to work in MPM Link, do we need to create Occurrence Link explicitly in PDM Link and then convert the eBOM to mBOM?

I am yet to find a solution to this 😞

Sounds like too much work to deal with MBOM. did you try something else - some other steps to convert BOM? And Why actually do you need convert BOM?
