We are moving our CAD system from Inventor to Creo 1.0. Most of our legacy data will remain in Inventor and we are loading this data into Windchill using the workgroup manager. Revisions to legacy data in Inventor will happen, and will create a revision history. But we are interested to see if anyone has experience with changing CAD platforms from Inventor to Creo as part of a revision. This changes the file type from .ipt to .prt. The drawing file will also change.
For example: Part "ABC.ipt" modeled in Inventor is loaded in to Windchill at rev "B". It is revised to "C" in Inventor The part is remodeled in Creo as "ABC.prt" and we would like to roll the revision to "D" while maintaining the same "name".
How would you handle this revision and maintain the history? We are not using wc parts.
