Mapping attributes to Inventor

Hi.

We're in the process of importing a lot of Inventor files to PDMLink.

We want the "Author" parameter from Inventor to be mapped to "Created By" in PDMLink (10.0 M030).

It's no problem mapping the 2 attributes, but when I import the Inventor files It's not the original "Author's" initials in the "Created By" field but mine.

Does anyone have a similar experience and maybe a solution?

I don't want multiple "Created By" attributes. This must be possible.

hmm.

Does that mean, that pdmlink can get the real inventor files, or is the purpouse to convert to pro files ?

If this is just a one time bang for the buck.

Try creating a custom parameter, in inventor. Called "Created By"

If this imports without problems, then you can do a vba script. that creates the created By,

copies author value -> created by.

Perhaps you can even create a

created by = author relation. Ask the support about that.

The created by = author, id then add to my invetor templates.

Again, i only know how id'd solve this from the inventor side of things.

Are you converting to pro/creo, and then importing to pdmlink ?
