With the discovery of Meltdown and Spectre vulnerabilities, Microsoft is releasing patches to fix these.
These are hardware bugs, only fixable with software patches that will cause performance degradation as much as 30% (speculation).
System Administrators, In cases where the machine is dedicated to Windchill (and with trusted applications installed and running) are you skipping these Windows patches, in behalf of no performance loss?
Is PTC analyzing these vulnerabilities and benchmarking the impact of these corrections?
More info:
I have found a blog entry at Altaro, that does some performance tests with pre/post-patch machines.
It is a very interesting reading and intro to these problems.
