Moving a file vault when the fileserver is no longer available

Folks,

I need to move a file vault from a fileserver that is no longer available. The DMSU requires a password for the old fileserver, so I cannot use that interface. I have already moved the physical files (from backup) to a new fileserver.

I want to use the sql commands:

update pdm.pdm_fileserver set FSVHOST='new_server',FSVPORT='7777' where FSVID=359;

update pdm.pdm_pool set POOLHOST='new_server',POOLPATH='new_location' where POOLID=425;

Do I need to stop and restart the dataserver for these changes to take affect??

Summary: Moving a file vault when the fileserver is no longer available

Folks,

Two replies said that I did NOT need to restart the dataserver. One reply said YES I do. I moved the vaults over to an existing fileserver so I only needed the to use the

update pdm.pdm_pool set POOLHOST='new_server',POOLPATH='new_location' where POOLID=425;

command. I did not need to restart the server. I can access the files without issue. Thanks to those that responded.
