NetApp for fileserver or dataserver??

We are looking to upgrade our storage for our Intralink system and was
wondering if anyone else out there is successfully using a NetApp for
thedataserver or fileserver? Any pros/cons to using something other
than direct attached storage?

We are using it for our Intralink DS/FS. It works well. The glitches we
had so far were related to disk quota management and permissions.

Disk quota management issue happened because of the auto snapshots
consumed all space.
Permissions problems happened becouse of our mixed UNIX/Win environment.
