Options make Promotion Notice visible only in specific libraries?

Today

We have hidden PN icon through profile preferences.

But Profile preferences is applied only to groups.

With this, i can not hide PR in one context and show in another.

is there any way of appliying this preferences to roles at context lelvel?

By this, i can control visibality of PN icon based on context wise.

Another way i tried is by ACL.

Denied permisions on specific libraries for PN and allowed in others,by ACL.

But with this, PN ticon is visble, user knows he can not create it only when we tried to create it.

is there any better way yo hide it?

Any suggestions?

you can use "Context > Team > Action > configure Action for role" to hide action only for one context. see attached screenshot.

Hope this helps !!!

Thanks,

One problem with using configure Action for role is that it's very hard to find these once you apply them. If there was an OTB report it would be nice.

A few options (Result for all - No user will be able to create in that context):

- Make each context where you don't want created Private if possible; do not apply any ACL for Promotion Notice.

- In each context where you don't want created, use an OIR that specifies a Lifecycle that doesn't exist.

- At Org level specify a Folder for Promotion Notice

- In each context where you don't want created, use an OIR that specifies a folder that doesn't exist.

- In each context where you don't want created, use an ACL that denies Promotion Notice Create.

All are very non-elegant it seems...
Create Icon likely will still show unless you use configure action for roles.

Do you use groups for your roles on a context? If not, switch, then assign
two or more profiles for the groups.

I create my groups with names such as Org Name - Context Name - Role Name,
that way when adding users to contexts, I can search for the groups by any
of the three of be more granular.

You can add other groups to these groups as needful to satisfy alt.
requirements.

Only other way to do this without profiles and have icon / menu pick hide is
to write an action validator/filter class.
