Oracle licensing for Windchill
Hi Fellow Windchillers/Oracle DBA's/System administrators:
Want to upgrade to Windchill9.1M070 from 8.0M030 which
currently has Oracle9i.
Is the licensing based on the no. of cores which the server
has? If we want to have test server and
production server as 2 separate virtual machines on a 4 core HP-UX server how
will be charged?
Cheers!!

WOW, 9.1 has been out of maintenance support for almost 3 years! Why are you not upgrading to 10.2 or even 11.
Running Windchill on a 2 core machine is suicide for performance. You need at least 4 cores with 16GB memory for decent performance.

Not only that but the cost for Oracle is getting out of control. We are almost surely going to SQL for our next upgrade.
