PDMLink: How to filter 'Where used' to only show latest Revision

Hello All,

When our users do a 'Where Used' Query on a part on its details page they have asked if the response table could be tailored to only show those assemblies that are using the part in its latest revision.

The table doesn't have an editable view. Is there another way tosearch for where a part is used thatdoes not return assemblies thatpart is no longer in?

TIA

Yeah, right. That would make too much sense. I put in an enhancement request to PTC in Jan 2009. I must admit that I don't know if this is possible in 10. But I doubt it.

Other posts on these boards say they can do it through the Query Builder. But you really have to understand how it works and what all the terms mean.

I just filed created an "Idea" (updated enhancement request) on the new enhancement request process from PTC. We are looking at the same type of report or a way to include some data so if we export it out we can filter by that field.

Greetings,

We have added several attributes to our Change Request and to our Change
Notice in PDMLink 9.1 M050.

Our Engineers would like to print out the Change Request or Change Notice
that create. When they print the page, The listbox with the attributes
does not display all the attributes unless you scroll down. So the
printout does not show everything. I would have thought that PTC would
have had a OOTB report to print the CR or CN and show ALL the attributes,
but NO.

A simple report from "Report Manager" puts the attributes in a linear
table which is no good.

Has anyone come up with a simple way to print out this kind of
information?

Respectfully.

We made a "Print Attributes" custom report to Print All Attributes from
any object (change, part, etc.). It's not very high-tech, but meets the
requirement. People need to print things out of Windchill all the time,
but many of the interfaces just aren't printable, so we end up making
reports of various kinds.

Another example is the need to "Print out a 3-level BOM." In 10.0 M020
there is no "Expand One" option in a BOM, PTC has agreed to return that
Expand One option in a later M-build, but even so, the product structure
browser isn't printable for large BOMs, and the Multi-level BOM, while
printable, does not allow for easy expanding and collapsing levels. So,
we made a "Print BOM by Level" report for that in 10.0.

I built a Cognos Report for that. Go to actions on an ECN and select Change Summary Report or right click "Summary Report" if in WC10. From here you can print it or export to various files (PDF, Excel, HTML).

Steve's OOTB report should be used if your users are ok with it. See my
2010 presentation if you need to something custom.

My report isn't OOTB. I had to build using QB and Cognos. WC10 does have OOTB reports though for this kind of stuff. They *might* fit your needs but you would have to check.

Was just testing 10.2 M20 and when I switched the drop down to Latest, it didn't show the non-latest object (See attached image Whereused.jpg). Can anyone else confirm this is functionality or fluke?

My 10.2 environment is a test environment with a partial data set.

After our full switch to 10.2 last weekend, I think it was a bug in 10.1 that has been fixed in 10.2 (see attached screenshot)
