PDMLink ProE Config Option DM_UPLOAD_OBJECTS

Good Day!

Currently our users have their ProE config.pro option "dm_upload_objects"
set to automatic. I was just wondering if other companies have this option
set to explicit. To me, the automatic option has benefits of making sure
the data is secure between local cache and the server, but the down side
is there is more client/server communication happening with each and every
save.

Let's here from the experts of PTCUser!

FYI: Our environment is 8.0 M045 with WF3.

I am not an expert but I will contribute as much as I can 🙂

We also have this option set so for every same the CAD data are automatically uploaded. Each of our site has its own replica server for the content, the metadata are sent to the unique master server.

We do not have any issue with the load on the server. We are currently implementing and have 35 ProE users on 6 sites.

Another advantage is that when saving, the users can know if there will be a problem with they check in. We use ModelCheck also.
