The recent post on ".proi directory" brings up a good point. There was
a reply stating the ldbconvert was not in the PTC knowledge base. And
when you search on that you do indeed get (0) documents. If you call
tech support, they get this documument. I have had several situations,
mostly intralink, where the Tech rep was priivy to information that I
myself could not find in the KB.
Our migration to Windchill will likely be past the 3.4 support date by
several months. With support ending june 2010 for Ilink 3.4, all we
will have is the Knowledge base. Will PTC make their private documents
available in the public knowledge base? Why do they hide these? If
you've seen microsoft's KB, they hide nothing. If something is dangerous
they add warnings that say you may render you system inoperable. But in
the end the user can find solutions. For those of us affected, do we
need to start a movement to have PTC release these docs if they will no
longer take a phone call? Not just for ilink, but for any product as
it becomes 'unsupported'.
