Performance -Folder Browser 9.1 M040

Hello.

9.0 M010 -Could Folder Browse using IE 8 or Mozilla.. The Folder would come up in less than one second for scrolling. Folders range in content of PDFs and Word Documents range between 12 and 826 objects,

Re-hosted the System to a New Machine and then Updated to 9.1 M040. Folder Browsing using either browser is significantly slower. And not dependent on number of files in folder. For example a folder with 21 files routinely is slower than folder with 800+ files.... After initial startup the folder refreshes allowing for you to scroll after 5 to 6 seconds.. though can range as high as 20 seconds....

So a Performance Degradation of between 500% and 2,000% slower,

The New Server is not as powerful as the old server.... Going from two servers with adequate memory to a single server 64bit with only 6 GB of Ram. New Server is running Windchill DS for the LDAP and Oracle 10.2.0.4 versus Aphelion and 10.2.0.3 on the Legacy Servers. System lightly tuned based on PTC Performance Tuning Page. Tomcat Heap around 768 more than what is showing, Single Method Server at 1400MB and Background MethodServer at 512MB. Staying below the 6Gb Memory limit.
Wondering if Java 6 version 17 could be a contributing issue on the Clients.
Anyone seen this lag in performance with 9.1.... Wondering if I have a setting off on the Server... if the Single server is that inefficient.. or if a Client setting is the issue since CPU usage goes up to 50% on a Workstation as it appears to build the Java tables.

More Information on this Issue. Appears to be related to the Left Pane Folder Explorer in 9.1.

1. Search on *housing* returns 1000+ objects and displays for scrolling in less than 3 seconds

2. Preference Manager/Display/ Left Pane Folder Browser set to False: and when you Browse the pages refresh as a normal browser limit, less than 3 seconds but a but clunky as you have to back up a folder level then select down a level to browse the next folder. Work-Around currently in Place.

3. With Left Pane On... Returns get worse as you select sub-folders... in our case 2010, 2009, 2008 etc... with the folders have between 21 wtDocuments to 900 wtDocuments in the folders... starts off around 5 to 7 seconds but by the third or fourth selection it is up to 20 seconds and continues to worsen till a folder 1998 with 21 objects takes over 40 seconds to display.

4. The Left Pane Folder Display with 9.0 M010 returns in less than 1 second every time on the legacy server. (Testing done with single user against.)

I have opened a call with PTC... but they have not been very active on the call... asking for database info... (though I think the search results shows the database is working fine...) Pretty sure there is a TAN against the Left Pane Folder Browser... but can not locate. Anyone know it.

Thanks for the responses so far.... By the way performance issue independent of Browser and Network... with IE8, Mozilla and sucks directly on the Server as compared to a client.
