I was a presenter at this year's Hotsos Symposium on Oracle performance. The Symposium was three days of presentations dedicated to Oracle performance given by some of the top experts in the field. I came back, having learned a number of things. I will be working on a relatively major change to the gather info script in the next couple of months as the result of one of these presentaitons (it relates to including a lightweight version SQLTXPLAIN in the report output).
My presentation was titled "Guerilla Database Tuning" and covered the key components needed to remotely, quickly and safely improve the performance of an Oracle dataabse. My presentation is available at the bottom.
