Promote Object in OOTB Change Process

All,
We have 2 states in our lifecycle called ENGINEERING_RELEASED and RELEASED. I have defined a transition rule at ENGINEERING_RELEASED that only allows an object to move to RELEASED through the Change process. No promotions or set state. My question is how do I use the change process to promote an object from ER to R without a Revise?

So far I have added the object to the Affected Objects table but the object isn't being promoted to the RELEASED state.

The robot in the Change Notice workflow acts on all objects in the Resulting Objects table, moving them to whatever state the product data lifecycle Change transition is mapped to.

So, just put your objects in the Resulting instead of Affected objects table.

We do exactly this for one similar where we'd rather use Promotion, but Promotion does not allow for editing the contents.
