Publishing on Promote

Can someone tell me what controls publishing of objects when promoted? Also, where do I go to make the representation that was created after the promotion automatically become the default? Thanks!

Not sure but I don't think Promotion triggers - possibly state change.
If it's state change, the same will occur for Set State or Promotion or Change (or even ProjectLink Route).

We apply watermarking dynamically, so have only one representation for each iteration, so not familiar with the 2nd part.

Seems to be property driven. Looks like I'll have to mess with these:

publish.republishonepmdocumentchange=true
publish.republishondocumentchange=true
publish.configspec.default.useasstoredifavailable=false

Tom,

Check these two properties in wvs.properties. As per my knowledge, they
determine what happens when a promotion notice is created.

publish.promote.enabled
publish.promote.promotablesOnly

We recently changed our stratergy in this regard. Now we publish on checkin, and then have a custom expression in the promotion workflow that "republishes" the default reps, just for the promotable drawings in the PN baseline, assuming the promotion was approved. Before we were publishing on checkin and promote which was total overkill. We map LC state to a CAD parameter which is then shown on the drawing. Hence the reason for republishing, so the state can be updated.
