Purpose & use of Optional Attribute "Externally Distributable"

Hi,

failing to find explanation in documentation,

how can one use the "Externally Distributable" Optional Attribute for Attachments (WTDoc) ? Is it related to Package creation, include / exclude based on this? Looks like it can't be added as a column in e.g. Structure view, correct?

Hi,

The Externally Distributable preference indicates whether the content/attachments can be distributed, such as to outside organizations or governmental units.
- Its similar like flag which indicates that this perticular object contents are Externally distributable or not.
- Please refer the below snapshot for better understanding:

- This only refers that the object contents are Externally distributable, but finally the decision is only of the user to give the permission for distribution or not, to external or outside orgnizations,or government units.
- This option is controlled by editing the preference under Preference Manager : Attachments>Optional Attributes>Externally Distributable.

Hi, thanks

ok, got that part already, but let me put it this way: Is this attribute visible only in the object's Content tab - Attachments?

What are the system functionalities OOTB that can utilize this attribute?

Possible use case example: navigate to WTPart structure, select Show - Documents, in the structure View add attribute "Externally Distributable", type in Search "Yes" to find those with value "Yes", navigate to document in question and download pdf...
