RSD into PDMLink 9.0 M040 Check In

Hello .

I have a site that is using PDMLink 9.0 M040. They have recently started to use RSD (Routed System Designer). They installed the Workgroup Manager for RSD, etc...

However.

They can NOT check in to a Product. They can ONLY check in if they log in as a Product Manager. Pro/Engineer, Documents work perfectly with the Product.

Question:
Is it an access control issue? Does the ECAD WGM make a new Type that they need to create access controls for?

The ECAD WGM does not make a different object type for WTPart unless you specify so in the preferences. It does create folders when a checkin occurs. Make sure the user is able to create folders at the product folder level they are trying to check in too.

ECAD WGM understands only the folders within a particular context. We are
using ECAD WGM for "Mentor" and "RSD" 9.0 M060. In both cases ECAD WGM uses
"Workgroup Manager CAD Document", which is one level below CAD Document
(same as Pro/E).



The difference being document categories (ECAD Board, ECAD - Schematic
etc..).. However, ACLs cannot be applied to Document Categories.



I would first check the domain ACL's for "CAD Document" (domain under which
the folder exists).

Hi Hema,

We are trying to integrate Mentor Graphics Pads Logic and Pads Layout with Windchill 9.0 M040. We have been told by PTC that we have to use 3rd party tool to convert pads files into .edif file so that Windchill can "read" the attributes. Can you explain how you have done for your setup?
