Revising in Windchill 10.1

Our configuration of Windchill is giving us only the possibility to select the
next following revision number, when revising a part.
(e.g. when the part has rev 1 you can only select 2 and not 3 and higher)
So, if we want to skip revision numbers and want to go from 1 to 5, we have to create first 2,3 and 4
as "fake" numbers.

I know from earlier versions that there was a possibility to select the revision number you wanted to use.
Is this a configuration item, which you can set in Windchill?
If so, how can I get that turned on again?

With kind Regards,

Bert,

There still is that option in 10.1. You need to set it from the Site
level. If you go to Site --> Utilities --> Preference Manager, under
Revise, there is an option for "Allow Override on Revise". If you set this
to YES, then you will be able to select your revision. See attached screen
shot.

Hope that helps!

Bert,
Yes, it's a preference.
Go to the Preference Management page as the ORG or SITE administrator and expand the Revise selection. There you will find the Override settings for both Create and Revise.
