We are doing this now and its one of the best improvements. You have two options, to use the TIBCO integration build for SAP or to use the ERPConnector. The first is a turnkey solution but does carry some licensing costs. The ERPConnector which we choose was an XML export/publishing option with OOTB workflows and configuration. It did require us to work with our SAP consultants to develop a routine in SAP to consume the XML files. Basically, we publish to a folder that SAP watches. The only downside is that we do not get confirmation of success in SAP. If Windchill publishes the XML file, it is assumed that is was read in. We still confirm that it had no errors but for the most part, it has a high success rate. We are using Windchill 11.1 and SAP S/4 HANA. We are creating Parts, BOMs and ECNs, along with sending updates.
We developed a ready-to-use solution. It's exactly what ESI ( Tibco ) does by using ERP connector only.
The only difference is that TIBCO is replaced by JAVA, nothing else. No database, no freeware etc.
We developed 3 versions 1. WEBridge4SAP ( SAP ECC6, SAP B1, SAP S4Hana), 2. WEBridge4OM ( Oeacle EBS) and 3. WEBridge4API ( remaining all ERPs)..
Thanks
