Server Alias

We will be moving to PDMLink 10.2 M020 in the next several months, and because during the transition we leave the current production server up for informational purposes, the new server of couse has a new name and URL. This causes some user frustation so we were wondering if anyone has attempted a server alias, where the URL would never change, but be translated to the current server name. This would help with documentation we provide along with links set up by the users. We also use Creo and WGM for AutoCAD and if you have set this up, what if any effects did this have on these types of external connections? Thanks in advance!

So why would you not assign the new server the same URL as the old server? It should related to steps of the rehost guide but one of the last steps in my upgrades was to set the new production system back to the URL of the old production system.

This would not be one of the NASA systems being retired or merged together
with another existing Windchill system would it?
