Server Side Java JDK version

Server Side Java JDK version

For Windchill server side java, for Windchill 11 it is bundled and certified with jDK 8 update 202 and for Windchill 12, it is certified with java 11.0.8

Now there are newer updates of the java to cover security patches being recommended.

Per PTC documentation, "JDK versions shown are the JDK versions that were tested. Higher versions in the series are also expected to work"

Would like to see if others have tried to do this, to install a newer update to get the latest security patches.  Would like to get feedback from your experience.  How much testing/rework/problems did you encounter with this.

Thanks for your feedback

We still create an E:\PTC\Java folder location. We have also switched to Amazon Corretto and have gone away from Oracle. You can download the .zip of the version you want and just place the contents in the E:\PTC\Java location, replacing the older files.

This way you don't need to up date your Java location for things like your Windchill Shell shortcuts or worry about auto updates.

There is also a PTC article that covers this.
