Thanks for the quick response from the exploder.
There are a couple ways to get around this.
1. From the Tools pull down menu pick Toolbars and checkmark the Menu Bar. Then from the File menu in the menu toolbar, you can pick New session. This will give you a non-merged session.
2. Select the icon that starts up I.E. and use the RMB menu to select Properties. In the Target: field, after \iexplore.exe" enter -noframemerging. Mine looks like this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -noframemerging
This will always open up a new non-merged window.
