Strange "hiccup" in change task email

Just wondering if anyone else has ever seen this kind of behavior from Windchill change task emails (or any other Windchill emails for that matter).

We have modified our emails to include the name of the Change Task as a hyperlink and the name of the Change Notice as a hyperlink. The change workflows extract this data and embed it automatically into our emails.

A couple of weeks ago one of our users received one of these Change Task emails. He just now noticed that the email did not have the correct name of the Change Task. Instead it included the name of an unrelated Change Task! Stranger still was the fact that the hyperlink took him to the correct Change Task! And on top of that, the Process Manager shows the correct contents for the email.

The link ID numbers are not even close. The Change Notices are not close. The task assignees are not the same. The Change Tasks were assigned on the same day but 30 minutes apart. I don't see any way to track down what happened in this particular case and don't think I'll ever be able to replicate it. I just wondered if such an odd behavior had happened to anyone else.

PTC - Many seem to be "re-inventing the wheel" on the need to provide workflow-related emails and assignments with more info.

What supported functionality currently allows users to show such info on emails and assignments? What is planned for the near future? Is there a place (maybe Planet PTC) for users to post current solutions in a coordinated way for others to use?

Reference - See attached for our current approach on this (also includes dynamic naming of each assignment with the PBO Number). We're using for pretty much all assignments w/o issue for many months now.

I agree that there is a big need for this in the community (and in the tools). We implemented our changes with help from you and others and we have subsequently helped other companies as well. The ability to tailor the email content that is delivered to the users can make a big difference in terms of adoption and acceptance of Windchill. (We have removed our Process Notification emails altogether because the user perception is that 90% of their content is of absolutely no real value! Had we been given a means to adjust and add to the content, we likely could have made these emails invaluable.)
