We are based in California and have one small branch in Connecticut (no more than 10 users). Connecticut is on a shared T1 line in their building and they connect to our CA Intralink server with a VPN connection. They therefore experience incredible Intralink slowness! We are trying to figure out if we can work around the CT connection setup.
Question: Is there a way to set up the CT server to mirror and then synchronize with the CA Intralink server? If so, is this a good idea and would it work effectively?
Answers:
If you have not done so already, you need to establish a remote fileserver
at the CT location and replicate the needed folders to that location. This
way the only traffic between CT and CA will be metadata queries not Pro/E
file transfers. This works especially well if CT is not doing a lot of
modifications to files.
