I developed some time ago a custom module for OpenSSO to be used for Windchill Single Sign On Authentication, and it worked fine in our development environments. However, we didn't deploy it to production environments, because with the "fusion" between Sun Microsystem and Oracle, it looks that OpenSSO will not continue being developed... We are waiting to know what's going up with this.
If you want more info, I think that the project is being "forked" with another name in http://forgerock.com/openam.html
