I wanted to contact you about technical inquiries regarding Windchill Quality Solution.
The problems we encountered when using WQS RBD are as follows:
- The MTBF value rises when components following exponential distribution are added in a series configuration.
- The MTBF value changes according to the RBD order.
In the analysis setting, “upon system failure” was selected for the Begin repair category, while restoration and logistic times were set as 4 and 72 hours, respectively
When “Immediately” was set for the Begin repair category, MTBF value decreased when components following exponential distribution were added in a series configuration, and we confirmed that the RBD order and the MTBF value were irrelevant to each other.
So, I would like to know how WQS calculates the MTBF value when the Begin repair setting is configured as at “upon system failure” and when it is configured as “immediately” is set.
