User Search The following error "The index search function is not available, an attribute search has

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 12.0 and Datecode with CPS 12.0.1.0

The following error occurs:


The index search function is not available, an attribute search has been used. The search results may not contain all of the objects you expected. Please contact your Windchill system administrator.

This is Bhushan from PTC Technical Support team.

 

Please check below:

  • Index Server is installed?
  • Index Search Server is up and running?
  • Can ping to Index Search Server and port 8085 (default) is open if Index Search Sever is on different host

 

What tyoe of search you are doing? Global search with specific attributes?

Is it possible for you to share additional information such as a Method Server Log?

Did the system lose contact with the Index Search engine? Its possible it crashed and needs to be restarted or firewall is blocking ports.

  • Index Server is installed?
  • Index Search Server is up and running?
  • Can ping to Index Search Server and port 8085 (default) is open if Index Search Sever is on different host
