Visio 2013

Is Visio 2013 compatable with Windchill 10.1 M040?

Thanks

Below is a link to the Windchill 10.1 M040 Software Matrices. Take a look at the Windchill Client Components table on page 21:

http://www.ptc.com/WCMS/files/137733/en/Windchill10.1M040SoftwareMatrices4114.pdf

This shows that Windchill 10.1 M040 supports MS Office 2007 and 2010, but not MS Office 2013. It looks like MS Office 2013 isn't supported until Windchill 10.2 F000:

While it is not listed as a supported application, the content files from Office 2013 can be used in Windchill 10.1 without any problem. Page 21 specifically identifies which versions of Office are supported with Windchill Desktop Integration. PTC is adding official support for Office 2013 in DTI at 10.1_M050. Software matrices will be updated when posted.

We have a problem with a mixed environment of 2010 and 2013. When is that going to be supported?

Lisbeth Sivertsen‌ When you mention 2010 and 2013, are you talking Visio or Office? There is no direct integration for Visio yet and the Windchill Desktop Integration supports both Office 2010 and 2013. Can you share the details of your mixed environment?

Hi Scott

I mean both Visio and Lync and MS Project.
We are otherwise on MS office 2010.

If we have installed 2013 versions of any of these programs, it creates problems if we also have DTI installed. This means right now that we have stopped the roll out of DTI in the organization and stopped promoting documents in PDMLink and ProjectLink. We are for security reasons obliged to use the 2013 version of Lync.

We do not expect to have a Visio integration, but we expect DTI to work if Visio/Lync/Project 2013 is installed at the PC.

Answer from support: Works to spec. Mixed environment not supported.

Hello Lisbeth

I also asked this to PTC and Visio is not supported in combination with DTI even not in 10.2.

There are currently no plans to extend the support of Office modules ( so only Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook)

Best regards

Bruno
