WC 10.1 Workgroup Manager for SolidWorks 2013

We are having problems getting the Workgroup manager to work with SoldiWorks 2013 in our Windchill PDMLink 10.1.

We download the WorkGroup manager from out 10.1 Windchill environment.

Our users are on Java 7 Update 51

They are using IE 9

But when they open Soldiworks the command lines that should show under Tools for:

Workgroup Manager...

Server Manager...

Event Manager...

are missing.

The last option on the Tools list is Options...

Any clue what could be wrong?

Open up the WGM.

Select the Tools>Application Management>Applications

Register the Solidworks 2013 application.

Close the window

Now under application management you should see it is registered. (There is a verification button to check this)

Open SW 2013.

You should now see in the Tools:

Workgroup Manager...

Server Manager...

Event Manager

Additionally on the File menu you should see:

Open from Windchill

Once you have opened a SW file from windchill you will also see in the file menu

Check In

Check Out

Revise and Check Out

Undo Checkout etc

Hope this helps.

Ladric,

Have you contacted PTC Technical Support? This seems like an issueTech Support should be able address fairly quickly. We have numerous customers using 10.1 with SolidWorks 2013.

Thanks,

Neil.

It seems to be hit and miss with getting the WGM to donwload from the Windchill 10 site.

For my last user I had to use Chrome to do the download as IE 9 would not work.

So, must have got the WGM now.

Anyone know how to make Windchill the home page within the WGM as the PTC page is not helpful.

Each time the users would need to open the WGM, then reconnect to the WC 10 Server then open SoldiWorks 2013.

If they open SW2013 first they get a warning each time saying the Server is not supported!

They hit OK and then Tools/Workgroup Manager and then within WGM they open the server or Tools/Server Manager.

Seems like extra steps.
