Business Case :
1. Many parts are linked to a Material (thanks to the Part Materials Association parser),
2. A new version of the Material is created then released (because we got a new declaration from the manufacturer),
3. All the parts should take the change into account, the verdicts of the parts must be recalculated according to the new version.
Currently (10.1 M020), there is a severe problem / data quality issue, after materials evolution, the material declarations of the parts are still using the obsolete versions of the materials, without any notice displayed to the users.
The only possible workaround (confirmed by PTC support), consists in uploading again the "Part Materials Association". The related Excel spreadsheet cannot be generated automaticaly and it is very difficult to create it !
A feature must be added in WPA, in order to keep the Part-Materials associativity.
The system must be able to identify all the parts using the material that have got a new version and launch the computation of the new material declarations and verdicts. This could be done in real time, in batch (every day, ...) or from a voluntary action ... to be discussed.
I hope this will help !
