Windchill 8.0 M040 to M050 upgrade failed on Solaris 10 server

Hi All,

We are upgrading Windchill 8.0 M050 on Solaris 10

WSP installtion fails, error as below:

Error
Failure reading file:/opt/xxxx/windchill/codebase/WEB-INF/web.xml20090313094514: Connection timed out
javax.xml.transform.TransformerException: Failure reading file:/opt/xxxxx/windchill/codebase/WEB-INF/web.xml20090313094514

Also tried belowTAN, this resolves problemon WinXP but not on Solaris 10.

Please suggest me if I need to do any more changes on Solaris 10.

Hi Avinash,

This is a known issue wiht upgrade to 8.0 M050, the cause is the your server does not have an internet connection. However, there is workaround for this. See the attached file from PTC on how to resolve this.

Thanks for your help.

I already used this procedure. With this changes, On Win-XP I am able to installed properly without any error.
But on Solaris I did same chages but not able to succeed, I am facing same error.

Could you please let me know, ifyou areable to installed 8.0 M050 on Solaris??

Hi Avinash,

Did you find any solution to this problem? I might find myself in the same situation next month as there is an upgrade to 8.0M050 planned and my server is on Solaris 10.

Hi Arun,

If you dont have internet connection on system. You have to use TAN 140624 for M050 upgrade.
