Hello

the possibility to discuss about a document directly into Windchill and "with" the document is great.

That way we can record why we have taken such decision sometime in the past. It also reduce the number of emails and ensure every skateholder have access to the same information. We have started to use it.

Unfortunately, one cannot say it is the most user friendly forum. When there are a lot of replies it can become very, how can I put it, messy.

I was wondering if there are "pluggins" or modules we could install to replace the out of the box forum layout by a more modern and user friendly one.

You also cannot tell without lots of clicks whether a Discussion exists for a document (or any other object). It would be great if there was some flag that showed this.

My guess is possibly looking into SocialLink (new at this year's
PTC/User). However, its located in SharePoint outside of Windchill. I
think you all nailed the draw backs. Subscribes are manual, UI is out
dated. A lot can be learned from newer (since the forum was originally
written) models like Facebook and Google Wave.
