Hello
we find that Windchill has a dangerous behaviour. We have noticed that when the upload of a primary content of a WTdocument does not happen correctly. (for whatever reason the file cannot be uploaded), there is an error message but the WTdocument still get checked in. It has all the new meta data information (version, soft attributes etc...) but the content is then taken from the previous version.
So you end up with a document which looks as if it has just been updated but when downloading the content you realise that is not the correct content.
This has lead us a lot of discussion and (argument, why is this guy not uploading the correct file).
It would have been simple to simply not check in the document if the file cannot be uploaded instead of taking it from the previous version.
Have you experienced this type of behaviour. We do not recall seeing it with 9.0 M050 but with 9.1, we noticed it a few times.
You will say, make there is no error happening but connectivity can always be an issue. The meta data are quickly uploaded and the document created, the second step which is slower is the upload.
Thanks for any feedback.
Best regards

We got a very similar error message with older versions of Java. Updating Java to 1.6.0_18 solved those issues for us.

Hi
thanks. We are using Java 6 Update 20 but I wonder if this is not the problem. I remember problem with PDMLink 9.0 on some machine which had version above update 7.
To answer James, There is sometime no message. so the user believes everything is OK.
Thanks
