Windchill -Workspace Icon Question

Does anyone know what the "star" icon means in Windchill's Workspace? It seems you can turn them off & on but I could never get a clear understanding on what they are used for.

It is a "featured" object (think favorite). There is a filter  - Featured Objects List. It allows you to select a set of items you want to easily filter on an ad-hoc basis.  If you unselect some of them, then set the filter - you will only see the ones selected (gold)

Also there are some others features objects. For example checkout object, originally added object to workspace and the favorite one 😄

We have descriptions with the (") inch symbol. When we check it out and check back in, the (") inch symbol turns to ("), so we have to rename it.
