Correct. Under the current licensing policy, a Windchill Mobile license is required for each registered user of Windchill, regardless if they use the Mobile app or not.

Correct. If you connect to the Windchill server directly via the browser on a mobile device, no Windchill Mobile license is needed. However, there are some caveats with this solution. For example, there is no integrated 3D viewing (leveraging Creo View) when accessing Windchill on a mobile device directly via the browser.

PTC does offer a free Creo View Mobile App for the Apple iPad or iPhone devices (iOS). It is possible to download the Creo View Mobile App from PTC.com (http://www.ptc.com/product/creo/visualization/creo-view-mobile) or from the iTunes App store (http://itunes.apple.com/app/creo-view-mobile/id560549930?mt=8). Creo View Mobile App is not currently supported on Android/Windows mobile platforms.

I want to make sure I understand….

The Windchill App is free at the Apple Store. I currently have a PDMLink Heavy user license to access Windchill . However, I need an additional Mobile license to be able to use the App connected to my PDMLink system.

Is that correct?

Mike - That is correct. Currently, a Windchill Mobile license is needed for each registered Windchill user to connect the Windchill Mobile app to their Windchill server.

Thanks for the quick response Mark...

Is it also correct that I cannot buy a license for me to use the mobile app? If I purchase one, I am required to purchase one for every licensed user of Windchill. This is regardless of whether those will ever use the mobile app or not.

If I don't use the mobile app and simply connect via the browser (Safari or Chrome) on my mobile device, do I need a mobile license?

We were considering this, but got bogged down in the details and confusion of licensing. I have never seen any of this documented.

I do not understand. Do i need Windchill 11 to get access on a mobile device or can I access Windchill 10.2.  If not how does a person access Windhill on a mobile device.  Are there any videos showing it  being used?  I have not seen any and I cannot figure out how to log on to our Windchill system on a mobile device.

Can someone help?
