Windchill screen jumps (Refresh Issue)

In Windchill 10.1 we are experiencing the screen jumping while users are in the folders. If they run a search, the results appear and when they go to click on a particular file the screen jumps which means that they are sometimes clicking on the incorrect file.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is this a refresh issue specific to Windchill? How do we resolve this?

It would be really helpful if you can also provide the other details like what Windchill version is being used, what is the browser type and version. Ensure you are using the supported version of the browser. If you are experiecning this issuein IE check if the same is reproducible with Firefox.

I reproduced the issue in Firefox, however, there is a "loading" indicator which allows users to see that the search has not yet completed. This is helpful as the user can see when to click on the correct document. This does not solve the problem of the screen jumping.

We created a new "view" and specified that it should only sort on one or two columns (i.e. by name and/or date) instead of sorting on numerous columns. The results display much quicker and the screen jumps less. Basically there were too many sort criteria and consequently the system took too long to display all the results.

Issue is not entirely resolved, but at least it is manageable now.

Hi,

We experienced a similar problem using IE and resolved it by changing following Internet option:

Internet Options > Advanced > Security > check "Enable native XMLHTTP support"
