Workflow email "from" person

Hello All, Workflow notification emails are sent from whomever created
the change notice object (process initiator). In the later stages of
our change notice workflow I want to change the "from" user of
notifications from the process initiator (an engineering person) to the
person responsible for implementing the change on the factory floor
(manufacturing person).

Does anyone know how to change who sends notification emails in a
workflow?

Thanks,
John

Hi John,

You would have to add the new user to that role and remove the other person
from process initiator. Off the top of my head I believe it is a role. I'd
have to dig down into the programming API. The way Windchill generates the
email templates, to customize it any other way is asking for more of a
headache. Another alternative is to create your own custom notification
e-mail but that requires understand a lot of programming.

The easiest route is to grab who completed or approved or is assigned to
rework CN etc. and store it in a workflow variable which can be displayed in
the body of the notification message with a label to indicate its purpose.
