books on data management

All,

I'm interested to know if anyone can recommend good books or reference
material covering data management topics. I'm looking for generic
information, not specific to any software solutions.

Topics could include document naming, BOM maintenance, revision
procedures, configuration management, effectivity, storage,
communication with manufacturing/vendors/customers, etc.

The only one that I can think of so far is "CMII for Business Process
Infrastructure" by Vincent C. Guess.

I will summarize of course.

Thank you,
Peter

RE: books on data management

Here's a few from my bookshelf:

Object-Oriented Technology: A Manager's Guide - David A. Taylor
Excellent intro to concepts that apply to data management(dm) and dm
software. A classic!

Engineering Documentation Control Handbook - Frank Watts

Bills of Material - Dave Garwood
A classic for dm nerds

Practical CM - David Lyon

Manufacturing Data Structures - Clement, Coldrick, Sari

Regards,

David
