For Windchill 8, is anyone able to use the product structure explorer
with Java 6? I noticed that after release 7 it does not work.

My issue is that Star CCM ++ "two thousand" what ever that CFD software
gets called these days, needs Java 6 and PDM needs that old old java
1.4. Otherwise product structure explorer does not run.


For Windchill 8, is anyone able to use the product structure explorer

We are using product structure explorer in Windchill 8.0 M050 with Java 1.6.0_07.

In general the Java Plug-In versions that are supported with a given
Windchill version are indicated on the platform support matrix.

Note that the versions supported do change at the MOR level, thus a
given release's F000 not uncommonly supports fewer Java Plug-In versions
than its M050, for instance.
