how to revise the generic part with latest instances, Generic part having the non-latest version.

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 12.0 and Datecode with CPS 12.0.0.3

User is released the generic part with non-latest instance. Now user wants revise the generic part with latest instances. How to solve this issue.
Please arrange the call to discuss the issue.
