importing a search list into Windchill/CreoView

We have a list of about 200 drawings that we need to print out of Creo View. (At least most of the drawings are AutoCad drawings, if that makes any difference.) We have this info in an Excel spreadsheet. Is there a way to 1) at minimum use the spreadsheet to create a search in Windchill, and 2) preferably even to print the drawings from Creo View?

WC 10.0 Creo View 1.0

Thanks!

Can search all using a semicolon-separated list of numbers.
.

2345.DRW
3456.DRW

Needs to become:
2345.DRW;3456.DRW

One way to get a list into a semicolon-separated string is in Excel:

- Copy

- Paste special, Transpose

- Save as CSV

- Open the CSV file in a text editor; replace commas with semicolons

- Copy / paste the result into Windchill Number field

-
No solution that I'm aware of to print all

Once you have executed the search, (see Mike's suggestion)...

Copy the search results to your clipboard.

From your clipboard (Quick Links --> Clipboard), select all and choose Print in Creo View.

This is a nice bit of Windchill functionality that is often overlooked.

(You may need Creo View MCAD license for the bulk print functionality...)

Thank you to both Mike & Jered. You made my life a lot easier!

This networking is really good for all.
Didn't know about the multi-select and Print from Creo View. Does this give options for paper size, etc., etc?

When I have used the batch printing in the past, it funnels all printing through Creo View which allows you access to the print driver for settings. If I remember correctly, you could print single or groups of items with different print settings.

Unfortunately, this option is not available for items published to PDF. (Eager to be corrected on this point... anyone, anyone?)

While we're on the subject, there is a batch print option from each context that can be run from the server instead of the client. See batch print in the help system.

All the best,
Jered

Ps. For the initial step of transposing a list of items from a column to a row, notepad++ has a command to join lines which handles this easily. Follow this up with find/replace... (this process can also be macro'd into a single command).
