pro_mp_density in windchill 9.1 and 10.1

So as well all know PTC changed the pro_mp_density to a units based attribute a few creo releases ago. When this happened we renamed the old attribute and created a new one. This may or may not been the correct way to handle this. Now during our windchill 10.1 upgrade opening up old models in creo it is throwing a conflict. Which can be ignored but I would like to know how to remove this issue all together. How have other places dealt with this.

Hi Wayne,

We have always designated the Pro/E system parameters PRO_MP_MASS and PRO_MP_DENSITY . When we went from Wildfire 3 to Wildfire 5 these parameters now had units but the same-named attributes in Windchill did not.

To fix this we did the following (Windchill 9.1 M060) which created two new attributes in Windchill; MASS and DENSITY; and mapped them to PRO_MP_MASS and PRO_MP_DENSITY.

First create a Quantity of Measure
Quantity of Measure Manager
New
Name: Mass Density
Unit: lbs-mass/in**3

Create new attributes with units
Attribute Definition Manager
Select Versioned_Attributes > New Attribute:
