re: Intralink 3.3 renaming proi_revision with illegal character
thanks for your help with the revision renamimg scripts. We setup a test server, copied all our data and files, and ran the two scripts. Got rid of the "/" in "N/C" character and the first revision sequence is now just simply NC. We'll do beta testing on the test server to check for any problems before we switch over our production server.
Just curious have you ever used a sql query to generate a simple bom ?
On a different note, what would be the best method or place to learn sql querys ? I would like to learn more about this. We have a new MRP/CRM package coming on board which may benifit from Intralink info.

I do minimal where used reports when I need info on a lot of objects quickly. I have an Intralink Scripting application for this as well, but it's slower.
The problem is the dependency table just doesn't give enough information to get an extremely accurate BOM report. Intralink uses some very complex stored procedures to report BOM's.

Oracle Press has some good books on basic database and SQL. The bigger the better, but be careful about the newer books since the Intralink oracle version is a bit dated. Plenty of stuff online, once you have a general understanding of SQL.
