How to "fix" old models? What is the best way to move old models to new template?

Hello,

My problem is, we have old models (Made in Creo 2.0 or Creo 4.0) but now we moved to Creo 9.0.4.0 and we moved on to new company standards, which means a lot of new parameter, and relations.

But with old models comes a problem, which is, we often can't delete parameters or make new ones which are restricted.

The problem most likely comes from the old model having a different restriction table than the new one.

I think the easiest way would be to make a macro to move all the features to a new template somehow but it comes with a different set of problems.

Is there anyone who figured out a good way to pass this problem?

You need model check. If you haven't used it before this book is a good start:

I don't have direct experience with that issue, but maybe this can help: https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS62021?source=search

We use Smart Assembly from SIGMAXIM and wrote a update script that any user can run.
