OIT problems

I recently upgraded video cards to NVidia K2000 to take advantage of the performance improvements in Creo 2.0/3.0 with OIT. Originally I installed driver version 320.78. I later upgraded to driver 340.52 but that did not affect the issue below. We are running Creo 2.0 m100, but this issue also repeats on Creo 3.0 F000. Running Win 7 64 bit.

We have a machine design with transparent windows. When I set OIT using the config option "blended_transparency independent" the display of the machine is incorrect at certain viewpoints. That is, if I spin the model and look thru one window I see the components inside the machine (sub-assemblies) and they show correctly; however, looking thru a window on a different side of the machine 90 degrees around shows none of the internal subassemblies. Setting "blended_transparency blended" corrects the issue but will remove the performance improvements of OIT.

Any suggestions? Anyone else seen this?

I'd guess there is either interference between parts or a rounding error that causes coincident items to appear to interfere.

It's a problem for high performance solutions due to the decrease in checking for interesting conditions.

Try making the windows have clearance from everything. If that fixes it, then that is likely the problem.
