Euler, cos and sin, complex

MW_10727886_0-1690342850423.pngHello, I am solving a circuit equation in Mathcad 9.0. I want to express the above equation as cos and sin identities (Basically expanding Euler) .I want the equation to look like U/I form .

The imaginary part is zero because Prime assumes all unknowns to be real and you did not provide any non-real quantity.

Guess you should have written

or

instead of

Using the modifier "rectangular" may also be helpful

BTW, "rewrite, sincos" isn't necessary anymore if you use "rectangular" or Re(...) and (Im(...)

Please attach your worksheet!

Have you already tried the "rewrite" modifier?

Forcing the symbolics to give you the result exactly the way you want can't be trick and often is a Mission Impossible 😞

Here is the sheet, my apologies for not adding the sheet before.

You should attach your worksheet, that saves us from retyping your expressions.

Anyway, with the proper substitutions your expression is:

LucMeekes_0-1690353073401.png

Symbolically you can do:

One step further gives you:

Success!

I am sorry for not attaching the sheet. It surely would have been easier for you guys to help us. I have attached the sheet, its stil not not giving me the Imaginary part.

Attaching once suffices.

The symbol for the imaginary "unit" i (or j) is to be entered as 1i (or 1j). You put jθ as an argument to the exponent. That is in no way associated with the imaginary unit. That can be corrected by retyping the equation, or by substitution. The the rest follows:
