How do I get just one page to work on at a time. It started out this way but somehow, now it displays more than one worksheet at a time. I just want to work in one.

The page is not a significant entity in Mathcad. Pages are just where the page breaks happen to fall. The only way to view an actual page is to use print preview.

If you first start Mathcad and then open a worksheet from within Mathcad you may end up with two worksheets active. This will certainly be the case when you typed anything in Mathcad before you opened the (second) worksheet.
If you start Mathcad by double-clicking a Mathcad worksheet you should get one instance of Mathcad with one worksheet open.
