2024-03-08 Friday Humor (Head & Elbows, Knees & Toes...)

Going to be a soggy weekend here. Hopefully you can get out and enjoy.

In the States, it's time to "spring forward". Hopefully, someday, they will make it permanent.

Ohhh and by the way, they moved opening day up three days..... No, not baseball, the Soo Locks are now opening Friday, March 22 @ 6:00 pm. Possible road trip coming up soon.

Pipe Specifications

(The series continues…)

  1. When ordering 90 or 30 degree elbows, be sure to specify left-hand or right-hand, otherwise you will end up going the wrong way.

  1. Be sure to specify to your vendor whether you want level, uphill or downhill pipe. If you use downhill pipes for going uphill, the water will flow the wrong way.

  1. All couplings should have either right-hand or left-hand threads, but do not mix the threads otherwise, as the coupling is being screwed on one pipe, it is being unscrewed from the other.

Soo Locks, very cool, I would like to see that!

We have some floodgates here in south texas but not for water height changes. Typically for where a river crosses the intercoastal waterway and they typically are just open. The times I have seen them operate has been when there are storm to the north or in the area that a lot of water with debris is pushing south towards the gulf, they use them to help keep the debris out of the intercoastal and to help keep the silt from going in to areas that would need to be dredged more often otherwise.
