Hi,
some colleagues are using special characters in subproject names. Because of the limitation of the windows file system this leads into a conflict when someone tries to create a sandbox containing such a subproject. Windows is not able to create directories with invalid charactars. As a result of attempting to synchronize this sandbox the following error message occurs:
...MKS125450: Subproject \MKS\subproject\<ABC> Project\project.pj (The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect): <ABC> Project\project.pj
Is there a possibility to restrict the usage of invalid characters (e.g. <,>,..) in project/subproject names on our MKS server?
Thank you &
Kind regards
Bertram
Bertram,
Restricting item creation based on names, or dynamically replacing illegal characters on creation can only be done with triggers. We don't have an example trigger to do this in support, but perhaps another member on the community may have something they can share.
